Welcome to the incoming EWMBA Class of 2012! As you settle into your first set of core classes, get to know your professors and class-mates and figure out your way around campus, we’d like to introduce our committee to you. No doubt, you are probably overwhelmed with all sorts of information flying all over and dimly recall hearing something about Career Services during the Orientation Weekend.
The EWMBA Career Services committee includes students from the Class of 2010 and 2011 (I’ve listed our names below). Some of the goals we hope to accomplish this year:
· Bring in industry experts and recent graduates to help you prepare on how to get hired in this tough economy. Leverage Haas Alumni to help students on exploring careers in various industries.
· Work with the Career Services Department and the various industry specific groups at Haas in outreach to alumni and organizations to ensure that Haas continues to have strong on-campus recruiting (OCR)
· Help identify resources and means to bring in international career opportunities on a regular basis to OCR. This is following the interest students have shown in pursuing international opportunities.
We are planning some events over the next few months – so stay tuned! Watch this space, announcements from the Career Services office and the eZine (a regular online news service emailed to you by Ramon Lim and Divyang Agrawal) for updates and announcements. One of the events is a panel discussion on career opportunities in finance, marketing and rotation programs at technology, CPG, energy and various other companies.
In addition, the Career Services Office will be holding a few mini-sessions to introduce the services available and how you can leverage the resources. Do take some time out during the break to meet with them on August 18 and 19 and August 29.
The EWMBA Career Services Committee members include Ajay Kshatriya, Shashank Varshney, Badri Raghunathan, Dharini Ramakrishnan , Srinivas Hanabe, Bala Kannikeswaran, co-chairs Amit Bhattacharyya and Abha Bhagat and executive sponsor Amy Daily.
Feel free to reach out to us regarding questions, comments or suggestions. We’d love to hear from you
